Pronunciation

So I've finally found something to help me learn pronunciation of Old English (five years on, it's probably time, no?). Follow the link for Robert Stevick's second chapter from A Firstbook of Old English.

Stevick's a good choice; besides being a heckuva nice guy, he's the voice of Hrothgar in Chaucer Studio's Old English recording of Beowulf.

Good to know I've chosen well, given that I just stumbled upon the page...

Chaucer studio? I didn't realize they did Beowulf! When was that? Ever since my first trip to Kalamazoo I've been going to their sessions -- always a treat, and one of my favorite parts of the conference. It makes me very happy that they did a version of it.
